What Should You Do When Your Wholesale Inventory Rises?

It happens to every business. You have been buying wholesale merchandise expecting to quickly turn it over when you realize that you are accumulating more merchandise than you realized.

The first thing you need to do is keep your perspective.

Just because you have extra merchandise now does not mean that you will have extra merchandise all the time. After all, it might be slow one week and then unexpectedly busy another week. In my opinion it’s always better to have extra merchandise than not having enough merchandise. You just never know when a customer will want to make a large purchase.

If you still feel that you want to move out some of your extra merchandise you can 1) run a sale 2) give away some of the merchandise as an incentive to produce sales, 3) look for additional sales channels 4) explore selling through sites such as eBay and Amazon.

But the most important thing to remember is that if you want to grow your business you need merchandise to make sales. You always need to make sure that you have access to merchandise so that you can make sales.
